Is the link still there?
We load the page and look for a link to your domain (including subdomains), with its anchor text.
Dofollow or nofollow?
We read the rel attribute (nofollow, sponsored, ugc) and page-level robots meta tags that make every link nofollow.
Can the page be indexed?
We check for noindex in the robots meta tag and the X-Robots-Tag header, and whether robots.txt blocks Googlebot.
Status, redirects and canonical
We report 404s, server errors, redirect chains, and canonical tags that point Google to a different URL.
Live is not the same as indexed
A backlink can be live and dofollow and still do nothing for you, because the page it sits on is not in Google's index. New guest posts and profile pages often wait weeks to be discovered, and thin pages may never be indexed at all.
